That’s right, Sharknado fans. The Fourth Awakens THIS WEEKEND! Just like last year, I’m attending an epic watch party on Sunday, and I’m inviting you all along for the fun.
Finding Cheese-tastic Party Food
I’ve been tasked with bringing a snack food of some kind to the watch party (everyone is), which means I’ve been on the hunt for something appropriate (or inappropriate perhaps) to make. It’s got to be super easy, because let’s face it, I’m not that stellar in the kitchen. Here’s a shot of what I ended up bringing to last year’s party:
Yes, that’s a dismembered Barbie(ish) doll in a sea of blood red tinsel, along with a plastic shark, and frosted donut life preservers. Aw, yeah. (Thank you, Dollar General).
This year, I’m thinking I’ll go with some kind of popcorn-chum recipe. Tasty and tasteless, just like the movie franchise. For now, I’m leaning toward Love Nerd Maggie’s popcorn recipe, but I’ll be substituting red candy melts for the white ones (because what’s a Sharknado themed popcorn treat without some gore, right?!). I’ll let you know how it goes.
Wrapping Up A Tasty Treat
I’ve also been brainstorming how to present my delicious popcorn treat, and I thought I’d share my idea with you all. It’s a fun printable for serving up Sharknado cones of popcorn! I will admit, these fun printables are more fun than functional. But, I couldn’t resist. Just click here to download your own printable (or click the Free Printable image above).
If you’re looking for something a little more practical, I was seriously inspired by the folks at MyPrintly.com and their much more useful Shark Week themed popcorn cup.
More To Come!
You’ll also want to keep an eye out on my Facebook page, because you don’t want to miss out on the awesome giveaway I’m hosting, random and interesting shark trivia, AND I’ll be updating y’all on this year’s LIVE TWEETING during the movie on Sunday. Don’t miss out on the fun!
In the meantime, if you’ve got some favorite Sharknado party ideas, recipes, or fun shark facts, share them in the comments below or even post them to the FB page!
